40 Days and Rainwater

It's been 40 days since I started taking Spring Valley Hair, Skin, and Nails Vitamins. I don't feel that the  vitamins did anything to clear my skin. My nails feel slightly stronger and I can see a difference in my length. I estimate that I grew close to 3/4 of an inch in 40 days.

Today was wash day and I washed with fresh, unfiltered rainwater. I COwashed with V05, detangled with a wide tooth comb, applied Shea Moisture Curl Milk, sealed my ends with Shea Moisture Mist mixed with castor oil, and I finished with Kinky Curly Curling Custard.

My hair looks amazing and I can't wait to continue using rainwater to wash with.

Check out my Photobucket for new pictures!

I am so glad to be COwashing only again. I COwashed on Saturday, August 4 and my hair was amazing!

I applied V05 Conditioner, scrubbed my scalp with my fingers and clipped my hair up for the remainder of my shower. Then, I detangled in 4 sections with a wide tooth comb and rinsed.

Once my hair was freshly COwashed, I applied SheaMoisture Curl and Style Milk, sprayed my ends with SheaMoisture Mist mixed with castor oil, and lastly applied Kinky-Curly Curling Custard.

I had an amazing wash and go along with 2nd day hair!

It had been two weeks since my last wash so I COwashed on Saturday, July 28 with V05 Shea Cashmere Conditioner. I left it on while completing my shower duties then I finger combed and rinsed. I don't think I scrubbed my scalp enough because my scalp is itchy and it feels dirty.

After rinsing, I applied SheaMoisture Curl & Style Milk and SheaMoisture Moisture Mist mixed with castor oil.

My hair is so soft and I really feel like my ends are gaining moisture.

I have been taking the Spring Valley Hair, Skin, and Nails vitamins for approximately 2 weeks. My nails seem stronger . Let's see how much hair growth I have when I measure in a couple of weeks.

Hair, Skin, and Nails Vitamins

Today I started taking Spring Valley Hair, Skin, and Nails with Collagen Plus Biotin Vitamins. There are 120 capsules in the bottle and I am supposed to take 3 per day.

In 40 days, I will be sure to update on how my hair, skin, and nails are doing.

As a note: I am having horrible cystic acne right now, hopefully, these vitamins will help clear my skin.

6 Years Natural and Still Learning

Lately, my hair has been really dry and I am hoping that I won't have to cut my ends. I just barely made hip length and I am ecstatic about my new length!

Today, I decided to clarify with baking soda and water. Then, I deep conditioned for four hours with SheaMoisture Organic Coconut and Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie mixed with SheaMoisture Organic Coconut and Hisbicus Hold and Shine Moisture Mist and an Olive Oil and Castor Oil blend.

I rinsed my hair and applied SheaMoisture Organic Coconut Hibiscus Curl and Style Milk and proceeded with styling my hair in two-strand twists.

I plan to moisturize every night in order to keep my hair from becoming dry.

I hope this plan works.

I also plan to Condition Only for a while to add more moisture.

Waist Length to Bra Strap Length

I made it to waist length again, approaching tail bone and I noticed that my ends were dry and brittle. No amount of moisturizing was going to help so I took scissors to my hair. I am now at Bra Strap Length stretched and all of my hair is roughly the same length. I love the short look and we will see where I go from here. :-)

Detangled and conditioner only washed my hair. I'm feeling good waiting on the hubby to come home from work. I'm wearing my hair to bed in a wet bun.

Sunday, July 25, 2010

I'm taking down my 2 week old twists. I really want to do box braids but I'm not crazy about braids. Maybe I will try it today. I have to do me and my daughter's hair. Wash and style both of us is on my to do list for today. Wish me luck on getting it done!

Sunday, July 11, 2010

Sooo... I finally got the time (thanks to my lovely hubby for watching the kids) to wash and style my hair. I clarified first with V05 Kiwi Lime Clarifying Shampoo. Then, I conditioned with Pantene Pro-V Curls and I detangled thoroughly. I finished my pampering session by putting in a full set of two-strand twists. Pics are in my fotki album. :)

Once again, I have been neglecting my hair. Not as horribly as before but I definitely should pay more attention to it. I'm going to try to go back to my more simple routine of condition only washing and applying a moisturizer. I'm also going to work on defining my curls more.

Hopefully, I can put some twists in tonight. :)

Almost Back to Normal!

YAY! I clarified my hair last night with VO5 Kiwi Lime & Squeeze. Then I conditioned with Pantene Pro V Curls (Yes, I know it has cones) and finger detangled. Lastly, I rinsed really well and then oiled my hair and scalp with Cantu Shea Butter and put my hair into 6 big twists for bed under my satin sleep cap.

My hair feels 10X better than it did before. I had way too much build up of cones. I could see a huge difference just after clarifying. From now on, cones will only be used in moderation.

Check out my fotki for new pics!

I'm going to wash my hair tonight. I picked up a bottle of V05 clarifying shampoo. I think I have WAY TOO MANY cones in my head. Unfortunately, I don't have any AVG or EVOO. All I have is Cantu Shea Butter. I guess I will have to make do. *Sigh* My hair depresses me right now.

Thursday, December 31, 2009

I have washed my hair twice since I last blogged and it's a little better but still not the way I like my hair. I just noticed that the texture in the front of my hair is much looser than the rest of my hair. I don't remember it being like that a year or more ago.

I need to invest in my old staple products. Bertolli Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Fruit of the Earth Aloe Vera Gel. I think I may stick with Pantene Pro V Curls Shampoo and Conditioner. It gives me great definition. Although, I may need to go back to Suave. I don't know. I'm so confused. I need to spend time re-learning my hair again.

Whoa is me

Wow... it's been a while. I washed my hair last night and it took me 2 hours to detangle. I've been neglecting my hair again. :-( My hair feels so dry and brittle and it tangles easily. I have never had this problem. I almost want to wash my hair again and see if I can fix the problem. I will probably do it at the end of the week. Right now it's in 2 braids under a sleeping cap.

Holy Afro!

I washed my hair on Wednesday and thanks to all the humidity in Hawaii, my flowing hair went to Afro in 2.5 seconds!

Is it weird that I love to wash my hair. :)

Wash Day

I definitely wore my 2nd day twist out up in a high pony tail today. I haven't worn a pony tail in forever, I loved it! I'll update after I wash my hair tonight.

1 week

So... I wore my twists for 1 week and a couple of days. Today I took my hair out and wore a twist out to church. I'll add pics to my fotki later tonight. I had a great twistout. I may try to get another day out of it.

Monday night, I will wash. I still don't know what kind of style I'll do. I'm thinking about doing some big twists or braids or something. Nothing to intricate.

Frizzy and Itchy

I've had my twists in for almost 1 week and they are frizzy and itchy already. They are frizzy because I don't have the right type of head scarf and the one I'm using keeps sliding off in the middle of the night.

I've decided I'm washing my hair on Friday! I was going to try to make it to 2 weeks but I think 1 week is best for me. I don't know what I want to do with my hair after that. I'm off to NP to find some different protective styles.

Starting Anew!

Well, last Tuesday I decided it was time I did something about my hair. I am embarrassed to say that I have really neglected it. I hadn't detangled in I don't know how long. I had freeform locs going on.

So.. I washed my hair, and then deep conditioned overnight. The next day I detangled half my hair (couldn't finished due to my fingers hurting [I think I have arthritis]) and twisted it so I wouldn't have any problems. The day after that I detangled the other half of my hair, washed and conditioned again and then put twists in.

It took all day Wednesday to detangle 1/2 my head and then half of Thursday to detangle the other side.

I can't believe I let my hair get that bad. At least I didn't have to cut it. It just took time, patience, and a lot of conditioner.

So... here I am starting my hair journey again. Trying to keep my hair healthy, looking good, and as long as it will grow. My goal right now is waist length. If you check out my hair photo blog, you will see my hair was waist length before doing the BC. One day, I will be there again.

Hair Stats: 3C/4A, OS, Kinky, Nappy, Curly, Coily! 24" long.
